Assessing your previous year in business to plan for a successful year ahead.
Congratulations to all of you,
what an incredible 2018.
If you're reading this, give yourself a big pat on the back.
You've been working damn hard this year and achieved big things.
As you're reading this you're probably up to your eyeballs in work trying to get everything finished by Christmas so you can chill out for a minute. I do always feel a burst of energy welcoming in the new year - a fresh start and a time for change. Most of you will know from us meeting that I am a goal-setter and a big believer in manifestation/ accountability - telling people what you want and then going out and getting it.
For this reason I'm going to share with you a few things I hope for 2019.
Keep on-top of my health! Physical + Mental.
Re-evaluate my Imo Creative processes, goals and pricing.
Up my photography skills - learn from others.
Figure out how to expand Al + Imo Handmade (my other business) without looking the reason why we started it in the first place = lifestyle.
Become confident and comfortable speaking on camera / public speaking.
Make time for the people I love.
Continue to try and share new recipes. (If you love food / cooking like me you can follow me here).
Pay it forward - adding charity into my business plans.
Marry the man of my dreams in March surrounded by the best people in the world.
Run workshops for small business owners. I've created this little form below, I would LOVE to hear from you if workshops are something you'd be interested in! These will be designed for you to learn new skills and empower you in your business. Please click the button below to fill out the form.
Always celebrate your successes.
You should be so proud of yourself!
Not only have you developed your skills at what you're good at and the reason you started your business in the first place, but you've also worn many hats - accountant, marketer, customer service... the list literally goes on forever! Your hard work is paying off and you should celebrate yourself and your achievements.
Celebrate always, even the smallest things.
Write a list of your achievements.
Write a list of your favourite jobs you did this year.
(Work out how you can make this work your 100% of the time work)
Treat yourself and celebrate!
Reflect, assess & make the changes.
Know your worth and don't be afraid to make changes.
One thing I believe in most is -
The best things happen as a result of big decisions.
You're a small business owner and I highly doubt you have time to step back and reflect on your year. You're too busy inside your business to think about the bigger picture, make some time to assess how you feel everyday - you'll know deep down if something has to give -
maybe you need to stop saying YES to every job,
maybe you need to slow down,
maybe you need to hire some help,
maybe it's time to up your prices.
(or all of the above, like me!)
Write a list of what needs to change.
Break it down into bite-size pieces.
Give yourself deadlines.
Start chipping away.
Need someone to hold you accountable?
Send me your lists, i'll check in with you to see how you're tracking!
Plus - I love nothing more than progress & success!
Celebratory bubbles via Skype?
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, filled with lots of yummy food and surrounded by the people you love.
No doubt you've all gone above and beyond to make it special - it's just the kind of people that you are.
See you in the New Year!
